Review: Problems with crank arm attachment to hub
I bought this at walmart.com and was initially pleased: it was smooth and a good workout. After a few minutes, though, I started noticing a slight hitch or unevenness in the movement on the left side. I found that the nut holding the left crank arm onto the rear sprocket hub was loose. I tightened it, but it very quickly loosened again. I used some Loctite thread locker on it and it stayed put. However, with another half-hour's use, the crank arm on the other side developed about fifteen degrees of play, which resulted in a very noticeable jerk whenever the crank arm moved past vertical and flopped over to the opposite end of its range of motion. The one on the left side also began to have some free play, about half as much as the right side. I wasn't able to tighten the nuts on either side any further, so I gave up and returned it.
